2013 Flag Rugby League


We are beginning to put the beginning pieces together for a youth rugby league. This will be open to boys and girls in middle school.

This is a HUGE opportunity to grow the sport in our community.

April 8th-12th
Rugby Indiana will be visiting area schools to promote and introduce rugby in PE classes. St. Charles, St. Jude, St. Vincent, and SJSE are scheduled to be visited along with Woodside, Summit, Carroll, and Maple Creek.

April 15th
“Rookie Day” – All interested kids and families will be brought
together at one location for rugby related activities, like a youth jamboree. Location and times will be announced. Also registration for the flag rugby league opens at www.rugbyindiana.com

May 14th
Start of practice (Tuesday and Thursday for two weeks) – Two
locations for practices IPFW and Indiana Trails Park

May 28th
Begin to hold Tuesday practice and Thursday Matches, these matches will be Jamboree style with all matches in a single location and we will alternate
weekly between the two sites.

June 15th
Championship Day, final day of matches this will be the only Saturday there will be matches

Volunteers Needed (Boys and Girls in High School and College)
- Coaches: 14 coaches in the city needed. Rugby experience is not required, stipend available for coaches.  
- Referees

•We will need around 10 referees
•Training will be provided
•Pay is $20 per game. Referees will average 2-3 matches per match-day
